After Paan Singh Tomar, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Mary Kom, the latest addition to the list of biopics on sportspersons in Bollywood is ‘Budhia Singh – Born to Run’. Directed by Soumendra Padhi, Budhia Singh – Born To Run is a biopic about Budhia Singh, who ran 48 marathons out of which one was when he was a five-year-old.
The first trailer of Viacom18 Motion Pictures’ awe-inspiring biopic, ‘Budhia Singh – Born To Run’ is out. From Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the studio that gave Indian cinema Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom & Manjhi comes this inspirational true story of the world’s youngest marathon runner, Budhia Singh.
Born in a poor family in Odisha, Budhia was sold to a person by his mother in 2004. Thereafter, he met Judo coach Biranchi, who also owned an orphanage. As punishment for bullying an inmate, Budhia was once asked by Biranchi to run. While Biranchi forgot about the punishment, four hours later he found the little boy is still running and that is how the former began training Budhia for marathons. Budhia and Biranchi hogged the limelight for the Bhubaneswar-Puri feat, where Budhia ran 65kms in seven hours & two minutes. Touted as next Milkha Singh, Budhia truly defines the quotation, ‘Impossible is nothing.’
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Code Red Film Productions, the film will run in cinemas on August 5, 2016.
