Shrimad Rajchandra, a saint, poet and philosopher who made an entry into Bapu’s struggling life in the 1890s eventually became his closest friend and spiritual guide. It is this intense association which has been presented as a play in various cities of India and will now make its presence in different places of Odisha.

Titled as Yugpurush – Mahatma na Mahatma, this theatrical production highlights the contributions of Shrimad Rajchandra into Gandhi’s life besides exploring the heart-touching bonding between these two greats. This 120-minutes play has been directed by Rajesh Joshi of Code Mantra fame, penned by acclaimed playwright Uttam Gada of Maharathi fame and its music is scored by hit Bollywood composers Sachin-Jigar.


With a credit of completing more than 300 shows until now, Yugpurush is already acclaimed as a dramatic and historic masterpiece. Some have even remarked that this rather interesting and non-preachy play has a potential to spread an uplifting message to the masses and is therefore a must watch!
