More Than 27000 Students Of Bhubaneswar Sang ‘Vande Mataram’ In This Event

Bhubaneswar, December 12: In order to inculcate the spirit of nationalism and patriotism, Initiative for Moral and Cultural Training Foundation organized a mass singing event where more than 27000 students sang the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ during the 2nd Voice of Unity event held at OUAT stadium, here on Tuesday.

Thousands of school children from in and around the city participated in this event which was also attended by the teachers, staffs and leaders.

Attending the event as Chief Guest, Major General GD Bakshi shared memories of Indo-Pal 1971 War. Appreciating the initiative, he said, “Such events would motivate young minds to develop a spirit of patriotism and would encourage them to fight for the pride of the nation. I hope more students would love to enter armed forces to protect the country.”

General Secretary of IMCT Foundation, Odisha Anil Dhir informed, “We initiated this in 2016 with a motive to raise the spirit of patriotism and moral values among students. We are happy that like last year, this year also students actively participated in the event and collectively sang the national song.”

The students were also encouraged to take a pledge of six principal oath like protection of environment, conservation of flora and fauna, sustainable ecology, respect for women hood, developing family values and patriotism.

“I am very happy that I got an opportunity to participate in this event. Singing Vande Mataram with so many students made me feel proud. We really enjoyed the event and would like to participate next year also,” said a student Avilash Das.

A cultural programme was also organized where many Odia singers enthralled the gathering with popular patriotic Hindi and Odia songs.
