Watch Out For The Ollywood Screen Awards 2018

Bhubaneswar, January 14: The much-awaited second edition of Ollywood Screen Awards will be held on January 31, announced Subrat Nayak, Founder and President of the Screen Award Committee, in a press conference held today, at a city hotel.

Unlike most of the entertainment awards functions that are held in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Ollywood Screen Awards (OSA), this year, will be held at Remuna, Baleswar, and will felicitate actors and technicians of the Odia Television industry. The ceremony, which began last year, is also different from the award shows organised by other television channels that mostly felicitate artists from shows running in the same channel. The OSA instead recognises and awards talents, across all the regional channels and shows. While assuring that the judging process has been fair, Organising Secretary of the committee, Mahesh Hazra said, “This event is a time for actors and technicians who work hard and busy in creating the shows for their audiences throughout the year, to relax and have fun. The people of Baleswar too, are quite supportive and are looking forward to see their favourite TV stars up close and personal.”Meanwhile, Joint Secretary Kishore Nayak informed, “Last year, the awards ceremony had been a tremendous success with nearly 20,000 people attending the event. So, to ensure that we have an even better event this year, we have planned 14 performances in total including solo and duet dances by top actors of Ollywood along with comic acts by well-known comedians of the industry. A total of 30 awards will be given away by invited guests.”Among others, members of the committee including Nikhilesh Ghosh, actor Arpita Kar and actor Anisha Rath were present at the press meet along with producer Pradyumna Lenka, actor Subasish and director Susant Mani.
