We Have Made A Compilation Of Some Of The Best New Year Selfies!

It’s hard not to notice that #newyearselfie, #firstselfieoftheyear have become some of the most trending hashtags of 2018’s first week! As camera megapixels keep increasing on smartphones, selfies have become one of the most popular trends among youths.

With the exchange of messages capable of shutting down world’s most popular messaging app, Whatsapp, for almost an hour on the first day of 2018, it is highly unlikely that Instagrammers and Facebookers would have shied away from clicking selfies.

Here’s a look at the first clicks of the year shared by some youngsters from across the country with My City Links along with their plans and resolutions!

Soumya Choudhury shares this click saying, “My expectations from 2k18 is all about exploring; to travel new places, see nature, and do things which I have never done. And for sure, put more stories on my social media handles to let people know how beautiful India really is! I’ll look forward to all of this and more.”

There are two ways of celebrating New Year, staying in, and going out. Subham Chawhan from Bonaigarh managed to do both at once. Celebrating New Year at Pune staying in with friends, he shares, “All of us were classmates in school and don’t get to see each other very often! This year was kind of a reunion and all we did was Netflix and chill and just have a good time. The selfie was to commemorate our reunion. What I look forward to this year is to finally make Goa happen with these guys and continue to travel and capture memories. What is a celebration, if there is no drinking and dining! Rosali Mohanty, a tutor, and food and beauty enthusiast from Bhubaneswar remarks, “Like every other celebration, this year too, we celebrated with food. The selfie is with my favorite little hooman; a foodie just like me! In the joy and merriment, I did resolve to subtract all the negativity from 2017 and add more experiences to learn from in 2018. I hope everyone has a great year ahead!”Monalisa Barik, an IT-professional based in Delhi says, “This year we were in Rourkela, my hometown for New Year. The purpose of this selfie was simple. Celebrations have always been about the fun and funk for us and we just wanted to capture that! This New Year’s Eve was sort of a release from the hustle and bustle of my daily life. Truly, there’s nothing like home. I look forward to the next year with positivity along with responsibility.”

While for some, the New Year brings in new goals, others take it up as an opportunity to learn and improve. Selfies this year should represent this positive vibe and feel; so no matter whether you fulfil your resolutions or not, simply click to communicate!
