Akash Dasnayak Launches Clothes Collection And Distribution Drive

On November 30, Udra Odisha launched its yearly clothes collection and distribution drive for the underprivileged called ‘Thile Diya, Nathile Niya’. The launch was hosted by actor Akash Dasnayak and Subhrajyoti Dasnayak in the presence of Dilip Tirkey, Hari Prasad Pattnayak, Dr. Surjiyaprakash, Aditya Dash, Prason Patro, Biti Bhardwaj, Sital Patro, and Debasmita Panda.

This campaign was conceived by renowned social worker Mayadhar Nayak to provide a platform so that the spare clothes donated by the privileged among us reach those who are less fortunate. Udra Odisha, a charitable initiative by Shri Akash Dasnayak, has taken up the mantle over the last few years for this drive.

As part of the campaign, donation boxes will be installed where people can put their spare and/ or new clothes at Pyaris Bakery outlets across 12 cities which are Bhubaneswar, Paradeep, Cuttack, Berhampur, Puri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune and Hyderabad. This campaign will continue throughout the winter season. So far the campaign has received tremendous response in the last few years, with thousands donating spare and new clothes across and beyond Odisha.

The collected clothes will be dry-cleaned by Washex Hospitality Solution, who have agreed to support the drive. The dry-cleaned clothes will be distributed among the underprivileged residing in pre-marked areas across Odisha like Daringbadi in Kandhamal.
