Anu Choudhury and Samaresh Routray Team Up for the Play ‘Bayasara Ante’

Ollywood’s diva, Anu Choudhury, is now all set to showcase her talent in the theatre play, ‘Bayasara Ante.’ Collaborating with Odia One Theatre Group and versatile Ollywood actor, Samaresh Routray, Anu is all geared up to perform on stage. The play has been written, designed, and directed by Bishal Balabhadra Satpathy, who has been a disciple of theatre arts for the last decade.

After successfully presenting the contemporary film, Adeiu Godard, Anu is excited to embark on this new journey. She stated at a press conference, “We have been rehearsing for the play for the last two and a half months. As it’s my first-ever theatre play, I am learning a lot of new things. I am grateful to my co-actor and friend Samaresh and our director Bishal, who are continuously helping me out to do it better.”

The play is scheduled to be staged at Rabindra Mandap on 23rd and 24th March at 6:30 pm. The tickets can be booked through the popular ticketing portal, BookMyShow. Anu and Samaresh’s collaboration is just the beginning, and they aspire to take the theatre play scene of Odisha to different heights. They hope to receive the same love, appreciation, and support from their beloved audience for their new venture.

The play is based on an old couple’s rekindling of love, with Samaresh essaying the character of Professor Nityananda Mishra, and Anu playing the role of his wife, Pratima Mishra. Speaking about his return to theatre plays, Samaresh stated, “Being an alumnus of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalay and National School of Drama, theatre plays are not new to me. But it’s been more than 20 years since I have done any play. It will be like a tribute to my teachers like Bijay Mohanty sir and Ajit Das sir and many other veteran theatre personalities from whom I have learned acting on stage.”

Director Bishal Balabhadra Satpathy expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with two renowned artists from the film industry, stating, “It’s a first for the Odia theatre scene that two renowned artists from the film industry will be coming together in their humble attempt to hopefully revive the theatre culture of the state. Being a newcomer and getting so much support from senior actors like Samaresh DBa and Anu mam is like a blessing. I am sure they will create magic on screen together.”
