Anupama Swain Bags Bronze In Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship
Odisha’s Anupama Swain bagged the bronze medal in 52kg category at the 6th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2022 in Bahrain. Jiu-Jitsu is a form of martial art and combat sport and it puts the entire focus on grappling with particular emphasis on ground fighting.
Odisha Sports tweeted the news, congratulating the India international and three-time National champion.
Anupama earlier won a bronze in the 2019 World Martial Arts Masterships Ju-Jitsu Championship in Korea. She also clinched 2 gold and a bronze in the 2017 Asian Powerlifting championships at Kerala.
Anupama hails from Keonjhar district. She is currently working in Odisha Police as a woman constable. She is also a medalist in karate and mixed martial arts.
