Atmosphere Core Expands Global Footprint with First Resort in Nepal
Global hospitality group Atmosphere Core is set to make its debut in Nepal with the launch of Aarunya Nature Resort by Atmosphere in Banepa, Kathmandu, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing international expansion.
Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2025, the 25-acre resort is being developed in collaboration with Lost Horizon Jungle Resort Limited. Positioned at 5,000 feet above sea level, the property will offer guests breathtaking views of the Himalayas — including Mount Everest on clear days — and promises a soulful, immersive travel experience amidst Nepal’s serene valleys and sacred trails.
With this addition, Atmosphere Core reinforces its ambition to become a leading player in the 'inspiring destinations' segment, offering a blend of curated brand experiences and heartfelt hospitality across South Asia.
“Nepal is fast emerging as a key destination in South Asia’s luxury hospitality landscape, and travellers are increasingly seeking immersive, offbeat experiences,” said Salil Panigrahi, Group Managing Director of Atmosphere Core. “With properties in the Maldives, India, and Sri Lanka, Aarunya Nature Resort is a natural next step. Our Holiday Plan concept ensures these destinations become accessible without losing their authenticity.”
Souvagya Mohapatra, Managing Director for India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan at Atmosphere Core, added, “Aarunya Nature Resort by Atmosphere is more than a resort; it’s a doorway to truly experience Nepal — its stories, its rituals, and its spirit. We are thrilled to mark our entry with a project that so perfectly aligns with our vision for experiential luxury.”
The resort will feature 51 elegantly designed cottages and suites, each offering sweeping views through large windows and interiors inspired by local culture. Guests will have access to two restaurants: an all-day dining venue with alfresco options and a specialty restaurant highlighting Asian and Nepali cuisines.
Aarunya will also house a wellness sanctuary by ELE|NA, Atmosphere Core’s award-winning wellness brand, promising a blend of traditional therapies and modern wellness practices. Recreational options will include nature walks, cultural tours, a swimming pool, a kids’ club, and family-friendly activities.
Gyanendra Lal Pradhan, Chairman of Lost Horizon Jungle Resort Limited, emphasized the synergy between the two partners. “Atmosphere Core’s grounded yet experiential approach to hospitality matches our vision for Aarunya. Banepa, with its cultural richness and natural beauty, is perfectly poised to become a mindful luxury destination,” he said.
Situated near the revered Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery in Namobuddha, the resort aims to offer a unique blend of history, spirituality, and nature for travellers seeking meaningful escapes.
Atmosphere Core’s expansion into Nepal comes amid growing global interest in authentic, transformative travel experiences — a trend the company is keen to lead with its distinct brand philosophy.
