CM Majhi flags off double-decker bus service in Odisha

CM Mohan Charan Majhi launched Odisha’s first-ever double-decker bus service on Tuesday, along with the Hop-on-Hop-off and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) e-bus services at the Mo Bus Depot in Gadakana.

Highlighting the state’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility under the Viksit Odisha vision, Majhi emphasized that these initiatives aim to enhance connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and lower carbon emissions.

The new fleet includes five double-decker buses, 10 Hop-on-Hop-off buses, and 25 SJTA e-buses. The double-decker buses will operate across Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, and Khordha, offering a unique travel experience to residents and visitors alike.

Hop-on-Hop-off buses will connect key tourist attractions in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, providing flexible travel options for tourists. Meanwhile, SJTA e-buses will serve Puri and connect to Bhubaneswar, catering to pilgrims, tourists, and residents. These e-buses are wheelchair-friendly, equipped with ramps to ensure accessibility for all.
