The much-awaited patriotic song “Ye Maati Odisha Ye Jaati Odia’ penned by Basant Das Samal which is based on the rich culture and tradition of Odisha is out. Professor Ganeshi Lal, the Governor of Odisha, lent his voice for a few portions of this patriotic song.
A one of a kind, for the first time in Odisha, the first citizen of the State went live in a voice-tech studio with a troupe of renowned singers. Thirteen front line Odia singers have lent their voice along with the Governor for the special song. They are Humane Sagar, Ananya Sritam Nanda, Ashutosh Mohanty, Sricharan Mohanty, Sabisesh Mishra, Shasank Shekhar, Pragyan Hota, Biswajit Mohapatra, Debakrupa Mishra, Alaka Avilekha, Samikshya Mishra, Lopamudra Dash, Sriya Mishra and Sonam Dash.

Famous Odia lyricist Prem Anand requested Professor Lal to lend his voice for this patriotic song ‘Ye Mati Odisha, Ye Jaati Odia’ that illustrates the glorious history of Odisha, and he agreed to it. It is a homage to all Odias. It is not only a song but an offering to God which will touch the heart of every person, Professor Lal said.
There is a message from the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as well in the song. The reason behind composing this song is to dedicate it to the people of the State on the formation day of Odisha, Utkal Diwas.

Professor Lal was all praise for the music director and said that it is a beautiful song that evokes an emotional feeling for the state. This patriotic song hails Odisha and every aspect of being Odia. The lyrics of the song is sentimental and talks about the state and its glorious history, culture and tradition.
This phenomenal song was released today on the occasion of Utkal Divas (Odisha Day).
