Mahanadi Coalfields Limited Brings ASHA And Anganwadis Under The Umbrella

In the midst of a raging pandemic and the onset of monsoon during the crisis, a recent example of compassion by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) is praiseworthy. 

The organisation has aided ASHA and Anganwari workers of Sambalpur district with 2,800 umbrellas for safety against the sun and rains. MCL took this initiative under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

As the reports say, this is a joint venture by the district administration and MCL to help and stand with Asha and Anganwari workers who are the frontline force collecting health-related data and creating awareness on the coronavirus pandemic by visiting households in rural localities.

A team of the Department of CSR, in coordination with district administration, distributed 1,248 umbrellas on Wednesday. The remaining quantity will be distributed shortly.

Leading subsidiary of Coal India Limited, under the Ministry of Coal, MCL has been playing an active role to supplement efforts of the state government in containing the spread of COVID 19.
