Mo College Campaign To Revitalise Institutions Of Higher Education
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday launched the ‘Mo College Abhijan’ on the line of
the ‘Mo School’ campaign. This comes in less than a year after the state government made
the announcement a few months back.
The Abhijan aims to facilitate an opportunity for the alumni to remain connected with their
colleges by contributing to its development. Each alumnus can contribute upto Rs 50 lakh to
each institution per year under the programme. It will be registered as a society. As many
as 755 state government-run colleges and universities have been included under this
abhijan.

The Chief Minister launched the campaign through an online medium and said it is aimed at
creating a healthy learning atmosphere in colleges and universities. Under the abhiyan, the
government will provide the grant equivalent to double the contribution made by former
students of universities and colleges. Besides the students, individuals and members of the
society can contribute. The government will take steps for development of the institutions
with the contribution amount.

The chief minister also inaugurated the abhijan’s web portal on the occasion. The
government had announced to launch the programme in July 2020. Odisha Skill
Development Authority Chairman Subroto Bagchi, Minister of Higher Education Arun Sahu,
eminent writer Pratibha Ray and Ollywood actors Siddhant Mohapatra and Akash Das
Nayak were present.

The CM announced the launch of the campaign and the portal via a tweet and called upon
the Odia alumni across the globe to be a collaborative force in rebuilding their own
institutions in their motherland.
