New Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal Opens Today

Today, a brand-new bus terminal, the Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal (CNBT), is set to open its doors in Cuttack, Odisha. This modern transportation hub is located by the Kathajodi River and promises to make travel easier for everyone in the area.

The Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, will officially open the terminal today, and it's a big deal for the city. The Mayor of Cuttack, Subash Singh, announced this exciting news last Thursday.

Before it opens officially, there will be a trial period starting on September 13 to make sure everything runs smoothly. After that, the CNBT will be ready for business.

The CNBT is quite impressive. It sits on 15 acres of land and includes a three-story building over two acres. It has special spots for buses and can handle up to 190 buses at once. There are also specific areas for local buses and Mo Bus services, making it easier to get around the city.

To avoid problems with flooding during heavy rains, the terminal has two channels to let water drain away. This means that even in bad weather, things can keep moving.

The idea for the Netaji Bus Terminal started back in 2021 when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone. It was a way to honor Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 125th birthday, a famous freedom fighter.

This new terminal is all about making travel easy. It has dedicated spots for buses and parking, so it's simple for passengers to find their way. Plus, there's a new cheap meal center coming soon, which can serve up to 1,000 people at once. This is being funded by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) with Rs 1.8 crore.

The opening of the Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal is a big step forward for Odisha's transportation system. It will make life easier for everyone who travels in the area and is a significant achievement for the city.
