Now, Panthanivas Becomes A Venue For Destination Weddings!

The wedding season is here and what could be better than having a destination wedding?

Considering the demand for the same and with an aim to increase the footfall of tourists to the state, the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) on Thursday came up with a special Destination Wedding Package.

In the first phase, the facility would be available in six Panthanivas namely Gopalpur, Rambha, Konark, Puri, Chandipur and Badakul.

Informing about the initiative, OTDC chairperson Sremayee Mishra shared, “Initially the facility will be available in six Panthanivas which will be later introduced in other Panthanivas situated in different parts of the state.”

There will be special packages under which OTDC will take all the responsibility of organising the marriage. From mehendi, sangeet, cultural programme, decoration, videography and local sightseeing, everything will be managed by OTDC. 

In order to promote this, OTDC has also signed an agreement with leading online travel intermediaries like MakeMyTrip, Yatra Online and Goibibo.

Informing about the packages, Mishra shared, “For two days event, the cost will be Rs 2,17, 500 for 25 rooms for 50 people. The package includes three principal meals, cocktail snacks, two breakfasts, basket snacks, mineral water in rooms, main wedding meal and wedding drum.”

People can avail facilities like basic decoration (Rs 80,000), flower decoration (Rs 40,000), ritual (Rs 12,500), beautician (Rs 20,000), mehendi (Rs 10,000), cultural programme (Rs 25,000), videography (Rs 30,000) and transport for two days for local sightseeing (Rs 40,000).

Mishra further informed that OTDC would provide free accommodation of two nights and three days as a gift to couples on their first and second anniversary.
