Odisha CM flags off Bhubaneswar–Abu Dhabi indigo flight, boosting global connectivity
In a major step towards strengthening odisha’s international reach, CM Mohan Majhi flagged off the first direct bhubaneswar–abu dhabi flight by indigo today from biju patnaik international airport.
The inaugural flight took off at 9:35 am and will land in abu dhabi at 12:35 pm. The return flight departs abu dhabi at 2:35 am and arrives in bhubaneswar at 8:35 am.
Operating under the state’s b-maan scheme, the flight will run thrice a week, every tuesday, thursday, and saturday—marking odisha’s first direct air link to the middle east. This route is expected to open up new avenues in trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and investment.
The b-maan (bharat-mala aviation network) initiative has already expanded domestic air connectivity, linking bhubaneswar with cities like goa, visakhapatnam, kochi, jaipur, lucknow, hindon, port blair, and dehradun. jharsuguda is also now connected to hyderabad, raipur, lucknow, mumbai, and indore—positioning odisha as a rising aviation hub.
