Odisha Records Season’s Lowest Temperatures in 16 Regions

A severe cold wave continues to grip Odisha, with temperatures dipping below 10°C in 16 locations. The IMD reports that most places are experiencing temperatures 5–7°C below normal, with an overall drop of 3°C in the last 24 hours.

The cold conditions are expected to persist until December 18, while night temperatures are forecast to remain below normal from December 19 to 25.

Semiliguda recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 3.5°C, followed by 4°C in G. Udayagiri. Even Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered temperatures below 14°C. Dense fog and frost have been observed in several areas, including Kandhamal, Sartagud in Phulbani, and Lamtaput in Koraput, as the state braces for two more days of severe cold.
