Odisha’s rising sprint star, Animesh Kujur, has secured the bronze medal in the 200m event at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships held in South Korea. Kujur clocked an impressive 20.32 seconds, setting a new national record and marking a significant milestone in his athletic career.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended his heartfelt congratulations to Kujur for his outstanding achievement. In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister wrote:
"Congratulations to Odisha athlete Animesh Kujur on clinching the bronze medal in the 200m sprint at the Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea with a remarkable timing of 20.32 seconds, setting a new national record. He has made the entire nation proud. May he continue to reach new heights in his sporting journey. Wishing him all the very best for future events."
Kujur's recent success at the continental event follows his dominant performance earlier this month at the Indian Grand Prix 2, held at the LNCPE Campus in Trivandrum, Kerala. The 21-year-old sprint sensation emerged as the fastest man of the meet, winning the 100m in 10.31 seconds and the 200m in 20.55 seconds.
With his record-breaking run and consistent form, Animesh Kujur has firmly established himself as one of India’s most promising track and field athletes.
