OMFED Milk Prices to Rise by ₹2 from June 13
OMFED milk will cost ₹2 more per litre starting June 13. The Odisha government announced a ₹4 hike but will cover 50% of the increase to ease consumer burden. The hike aims to benefit around 2.5 lakh dairy farmers, who will now get ₹38.05 per litre.
CM Majhi announced the changes during World Milk Day 2025, highlighting support for farmers and launching three new products—Balti Dahi, A2 Milk, and A2 Ghee made from Odisha's native Binjharpuri cow breed.
He also announced ₹1 lakh accidental death aid for OMFED-affiliated dairy farmers and distributed ₹71 crore under the CM’s Kamdhenu Yojana. An additional ₹10.5 crore was allocated for the welfare of stray cattle in 77 registered goshalas.
The Kamdhenu Yojana offers up to 70% financial assistance for cattle rearing, insurance, fodder cultivation, and dairy development. Odisha aims to double its current 26.4 lakh tonne milk production in the next five years.
