Papu Pam Pam Makes OTT Debut With ‘Ladies Hostel’

The coronavirus pandemic has brought the entertainment sector to a standstill, but not so for comedy king Papu Pam Pam.

The actor made a great comeback with Season 3 of his popular comedy show, ‘Excuse Me Jaha Kahibi Sata Kahibi’ on Tarang TV. 

What’s more, he has even made his OTT debut with the comedy series ‘Ladies Hostel’. Aired on new Odia OTT app Aao TV, the series sees Papu playing the owner of a hostel. Directed by Sambeet Pradhan, all the episodes of the series were released this Friday.

Talking about ‘Ladies Hostel’, Papu told MCL: “Along with me, there are 12 other characters of six young boys and six young girls. As the owner of the hostel, I strictly instruct the girls against bringing in their boyfriends and also fix the visiting hours. But without my knowledge, they indulge in all that they want to do and the humour comes with various such situations. As it’s my first web-series I feel I may have made a lot of mistakes; let my audience judge that. We had shot this before lockdown within 12-15 days.”

The actor informed that he has his hands full of offers at the moment. “I am doing a cameo in Sabyasachi Mishra’s upcoming film on Tarang Plus. Shooting has started for another comedy series ‘Bajrangi Colony’ for Manjari TV. I am playing a devotee of Hanuman and a Bramhachari (celibate). I only allow boys in my colony, who have to obey my Brahmacharya rules, if they want to live there with me, which includes practising Kusti (wrestling). In front of my colony, there is a ladies hostel, owned by Rani Panda and that’s the reason my boys start cheating me (chuckles). To surprise my viewers, leaving comedy behind, I am also going to play the character of a serial killer in one of my upcoming projects,” the actor shared about his future projects.
