Puri Jagannath Temple to Get Anti-Drone Security Upgrade: Odisha Minister
In light of potential terror threats, the Odisha government is considering installing anti-drone technology at the Puri Jagannath Temple to enhance security at the 12th-century shrine.
Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan stated that the Law Department has discussed the plan with Odisha Police. The anti-drone system will detect, track, and neutralise unauthorized drones in the temple area.
If needed, funds for the installation will be provided by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
This move comes after heightened national security concerns following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, prompting Odisha to increase vigilance around major religious sites.
