With a ₹177 crore redevelopment project underway, Puri Railway Station is being transformed into a state-of-the-art transit hub, capable of accommodating 40,000 passengers daily. The upgraded facility will feature spacious waiting halls, multiple lifts and escalators, and extensive parking ensuring smooth travel during high-traffic seasons like Rath Yatra.
A standout feature is the station’s modern glass architecture, designed to allow natural light while offering structural strength to withstand cyclonic winds of up to 250–300 kmph crucial for a coastal city like Puri.
From vibrant food plazas to kiosks showcasing local products, the design blends cultural heritage with contemporary convenience. Puri Station is not just getting a facelift it’s being reimagined as a future-ready symbol of Odisha’s progress.
