‘Pushkara’ Wins Best Odia Film at 71st National Film Awards

In a proud moment for Odisha, Pushkara has been named the Best Odia Film at the 71st National Film Awards 2023, bringing regional cinema into the national spotlight.

Produced by Tarang Cine Productions and directed by Subhransu Das, Pushkara is based on the Odia novel Nadabindu by Shankar Tripathy. The film explores themes of tradition, identity, and social change in rural Odisha and has already gained critical acclaim at various film festivals.

The National Award win not only recognises Pushkara’s powerful storytelling and cultural depth but also marks a significant milestone for Odia cinema, which often struggles for national attention. This recognition is expected to inspire emerging filmmakers and amplify Odia voices in Indian cinema.
