Railway Ministry Approves New Express Train Between Puri and Koraput via Sambalpur
In a major boost to rail connectivity in Odisha, the Ministry of Railways has approved a new express train service between Puri and Koraput via Sambalpur.
According to reports, Train No. 18407 will operate from Puri to Koraput via Sambalpur, while Train No. 18408 will run from Koraput to Puri on the same route. The Puri-Koraput express will run every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday, whereas the Koraput–Puri service will operate on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.
The trains will halt at 19 stations, including Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Balangir, Rayagada, and several other important locations across the state. The new train service is expected to improve connectivity between eastern, western, and southern Odisha while making travel easier for pilgrims, tourists, and regular passengers.
