Seven Eminent Artists Conferred With Dharmapada Puraskar

Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi has conferred the prestigious Dharmapada Puraskar to seven eminent artists for the years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

The award carries prize money of Rs 1 lakh, a citation and a shawl.

Here’s a list of the awardees:

• 2009: Late Gokul Bihari Pattanayak, Patta Chitra artist
• 2010: Late Asim Basu, eminent theatre personality, painter and set designer
• 2011: Durga Prasad Das, former principal of Government College of Art and Craft, Khallikote
• 2012: Sudarshan Sahoo, Padma Shri awardee and sculptor
• 2013: Jatin Das, painter, sculptor and muralist
• 2014: Late Dinanath Pathy, painter, author and art historian
• 2015: Raghunath Mohapatra, Padma Vibhushan awardee, architect and sculptor

The ceremony to confer the awards couldn’t be held this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
