SS Rajamouli's SSMB29 Set to Begin Shoot in Odisha

Recently, Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran were spotted together at the Hyderabad airport, and the photos quickly went viral on social media. In the pictures, the two actors were seen being warmly welcomed by airport officials.

Earlier, there were reports suggesting that Prithviraj Sukumaran was in talks with SS Rajamouli for SSMB29. However, rumors later surfaced claiming that John Abraham might replace Prithviraj as the antagonist. Recently, though Prithviraj hinted at joining the project, Prithviraj's mother, veteran actress Mallika Sukumaran, confirmed that he is indeed part of the film.

Tentatively titled SSMB29, Rajamouli's action-adventure is said to have a staggering production budget of Rs 900-1000 crore, making it one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema. The movie is planned to be released in two parts, with filming expected to continue until 2026. The first part is slated to hit theaters in 2027, followed by the second part in 2029.

SSMB29, which stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has been generating immense buzz even before its official announcement. Fans are eagerly anticipating more details. According to the latest reports, the team is set to begin their next shooting schedule in Koraput, Odisha.  The film will be shot in the picturesque locations of Koraput, Jeypore, and Deomali, which lie about 60 kilometers from Koraput. Deomali, the highest peak in Odisha nestled in the Eastern Ghats, is an ideal setting for adventure sports such as aero-gliding and trekking. The landscape, which resembles the African wilderness, perfectly complements the film’s adventurous theme.

SSMB29 is inspired by the works of British-South African novelist Wilbur Addison Smith and is one of the most anticipated films in recent times. The movie marks Priyanka Chopra Jonas's return to Indian cinema, starring in this grand action-adventure. The film is being produced by KL Narayana and features music composed by the Oscar-winning MM Keeravaani, adding to the excitement surrounding this magnum opus. New pictures from the set have surfaced online, heightening the excitement among fans as they look forward to what promises to be an epic cinematic experience.
