State to Reclaim Unused Leased Land; Minister Suresh Pujari Sets Targets for Land Reforms and Social Welfare

On Thursday, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the state government would reclaim leased land from agencies and institutions that fail to use it effectively.

During a review meeting of his department, Minister Suresh Pujari directed officials to identify institutions that have failed to utilize leased land and take appropriate action. He also emphasized the need to identify homeless and landless individuals to ensure their inclusion in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Vasundhara Yojana, under which the state provides up to 10 decimal of land to landless families for homesteads.

Pujari further instructed revenue officials to fast-track the issuance of land pattas to schools and the declaration of new revenue villages, with a target completion by the end of December. He also urged them to resolve pending mutation cases in tehsils within the designated time frame.

Additionally, the department will accelerate efforts to fill vacant positions and ensure the timely issuance of domicile, caste, and other certificates.
