Tarang Plus Sets Internet on Fire with Teaser of ‘Ichha’

After getting mixed reviews for ‘Chumbak’ and ‘72 Hours’, Tarang Plus, the first Odia OTT platform, has come up with another path-breaking web series ‘Ichha’, the trailer of which was released on Friday. The teaser shows actors Raj Rajesh, Gargi Mohanty and Dusmant sharing one bed and also includes Gargi in a steamy lip-lock with Rajesh. Since its release, the trailer has received an overwhelming response from all quarters.

‘Ichha’ has been directed by Rashesh Mohanty while the story and screenplay is by Ananya Pattanaik. It stars popular Ollywood actors like Gargi Mohanty, Raj Rajesh and Dusmant Panda in lead roles. Besides, Snigdha Mohanty, Priyanka Mohapatra, Mohan Majithia and Asish Senapati are the other actors who are portraying significant characters in the series. It’s all episodes are going to release on 24th July.

Throwing light on the storyline, Chief Executive Producer Debidutta Mohanty said, “Though the plot may seem familiar, the way it has been presented is watch-worthy. As human beings, we all have wishes and desires. Some desires are irresistible but also difficult to fulfil and cannot be shared with others. This story is about the desires of three characters Jeet, Niki and Raunak.”

The content has been made according to the taste of the current generation and in view of the changing lifestyle in modern society.  There are a total of seven episodes and all are of 20-25 minutes duration, he added.

Expressing happiness over his debut on an OTT platform, Rajesh said, “My character Jeet is a Khanti Cuttackia (a local of Cuttack). But at the same time, he is an intellectual too. There are many things to learn from the character which is pretty much relatable to youngsters. I think OTT platforms are the future.”

When asked about his intimate scene with a senior actor like Gargi, he said, “It was tough but with mutual understanding, we created a comfort zone. Besides, creative camera works have been done for some scenes. I want to tell people who have created a negative notion after watching the teaser that please don’t judge the book from its cover. We don’t promote vulgarity and the series is a soft romantic triangular love story. I would request everyone to watch the whole series after its release and gives us honest feedback.”

Rajesh signed off with his favourite dialogue from the series: “Nahin seema akashara, nahin seema sagara ra, Seema re bandhi hei ruhe Ichha ama Hrudaya ra”. (Unlike the sky and sea which have no limits, some of our heart’s desires are chained to boundaries.) 

The studio version of the title track of this series has also been released on Tarang Cine Productions’ Official YouTube Channel. While Debidutta Mohanty has penned the lyrics, the music is by Sarat Nayak and sung by Sashank Sekhar.
