Waterfall

Putudi waterfall is located at a 15-kilometre distance from the township of Phulbani. The area around Putudi has been developed by the authorities for tourist visit making it a suitable place for hangouts. There is another waterfall named Pakadajhar which is an eco-tourism site and is located amidst dense forest of Sudrukumpa Forest Range of Phulbani Forest Division. It’s around 20 kilometres away from the township area. However, visiting both places during the day time and in the early afternoon is safe and appropriate.

Pilasalunki Dam

Pilasalunki Dam or reservoir is another attraction at Phulbani. It is a popular picnic spot. However, Google won’t be of much help as one could hardly get network in the forest areas. Just follow the old method and ask people for the location, we assure you that you would reach the destinations with the help of friendly locals.  The afternoon is the best time to visit the place and a few hours wait and you could witness the majestic sunset view.

Temples and Beliefs

There is a famous Barala Devi Temple in Phulbani, located 3 kilometres away from Pilasalunki Dam. Denizens of the place believe that goddess Barala Devi is the saviour of the world and an incarnation of Goddess Shakti. Locals also believe that Lord Jagannath is omnipresent. The Jagannath Temple is the other devotional point in Phulbani.

Nature Camps

Phulbani has two best eco-tourism sites which one shouldn’t miss. Belghar Nature Camp and Phulbani Nature Camp at Mandasaru are quite popular among those who want to spend some quality time amidst nature. Mandasaru is also called as Silent Valley. Though these places are a bit far from the Phulbani’s semi-urban area, once you reach the spot, nature and wildlife will welcome you with utmost warmth.

Organic Farming

The vegetables and fruits grown here are totally organic. The abundance of vegetables and fruits makes the local cuisines way healthier that one doesn't miss potatoes on their plates. Beans grown here are enriched with high fibre and vitamins.

Geographical Point

A lesser-known fact! The flag-post of District Magistrate’s Office of Phulbani is the geographical point of Odisha where longitude and latitude intersect each other dividing Odisha’s map equally on the globe.
