Wastewater Treatment plant to come up for cleaning Daya river

In order to make the Daya river pollution free a treatment plant is to be set up in the days to come. A review meeting with the 5T and Naveen Odisha Chairman V.K. Pandian decided on the matter yesterday.

The Gangua Nullah carries wastewater from Bhubaneswar city and drains into the Daya river. The review meeting decided that a treatment plant with advanced technology by Watco is to be constructed at the confluence of Daya and Gangua to purify the water of the river.

Pandian has asked all concerned agencies including Urban Development Department, BMC, Watco and State Pollution Control Board to take action in this regard. While releasing industrial waste and biomedical waste to drains, necessary steps would be taken for its treatment.

As per the meeting, the contaminated water of various institutions in BMC will be connected with sewerage line. Pandian opined that there would not be any inconvenience to the public if they work in coordination with various agencies and speed up the sewerage work and complete it within the stipulated time frame.
