World Federation of Medical Education Grants 10-Year Accreditation to India's NMC
The World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) has granted a 10-year accreditation status to the National Medical Commission of India. This development is set to open doors for Indian medical graduates, enabling them to undertake post-graduate training and practice medicine in various countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
India's Ministry of Health made this announcement, highlighting its commitment to ensuring that all 706 medical colleges in the country achieve accreditation from the WFME. The Ministry of Health stated, "This accreditation extends to all 706 established medical colleges in India, and any new medical colleges established over the next decade will automatically receive recognition from the World Federation. This recognition is poised to elevate the quality of medical education in India by aligning it with global best practices and standards."
