Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar: Yuvodaya's Summer Camp Ignites Young Minds Across Odisha
This summer, a wave of creativity and curiosity swept through Odisha as Yuvodaya Institution hosted its first-ever, state-wide school-level summer camp titled "Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar." Held over four transformative days in Balangir, the camp was not just an event but an experience that blended learning with joy, and discipline with discovery.

Designed as a multi-dimensional workshop, the camp brought together national-level experts who mentored students in a wide array of engaging activities such as storytelling, craft-making, documentary filmmaking, camera handling, radio jockeying, and creative expression through visual media.

"Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar was more than just a program. It was a celebration of talent, passion, and the unstoppable spirit of our students," said Ambarish Dash, Director of Yuvodaya Institution.

"Watching young minds explore storytelling, filmmaking, and RJ-ing with such enthusiasm was truly inspiring. At Yuvodaya, we believe every child has a spark, and this initiative helped ignite it. I’m proud of our team, the experts who mentored our students, and most importantly, the students who proved that they are indeed the Sikandars of tomorrow. This is just the beginning. Many more such empowering journeys await,” he added.

The camp quickly became a hub of innovation and imagination, buzzing with energy as students divided into hands-on workshops that not only taught them new skills but also nurtured self-expression, creativity, and confidence. It wasn’t just about learning new things; it was about discovering hidden passions and talents.

"I never thought a summer camp could be this fun and inspiring!" shared Baibhab Mishra, Class 7.
"'Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar' was full of exciting activities like documentary making, camera operation, and even radio jockeying. Every day, I learned something new and enjoyed every moment with my friends. It helped me become more confident and creative. I can’t wait to join again next year,” added Baibhab.

Hurti Pragyan Meher, also from Class 7 said, "This summer would have been just another boring break, but this camp completely changed that for me. Whether it was storytelling, craft, filmmaking, or RJ-ing, each day brought something new. I discovered talents I didn’t know I had and gained so much confidence. Thank you, Yuvodaya, for such a wonderful experience. Each session was thoughtfully crafted to introduce students to new skills while fostering teamwork, public speaking, media literacy, and most importantly, joyful learning. The energy and excitement in every corner of the venue spoke volumes about the camp’s success.”

"Being a part of 'Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar' was an unforgettable experience, I learned so many new things from storytelling and documentary making to handling a camera and speaking like a radio jockey. Every session was fun, creative, and full of energy. It helped me come out of my comfort zone and discover skills I didn’t know I had. I feel more confident, expressive, and inspired now" said Rudhransh Mishra, Class 9.
